The technology behind the scent

A fragrance is only as good as the equipment delivering it. Here's how our diffusion technology keeps a composition true to how it was designed to smell.

Cold-air diffusion, not heat

Heat-based diffusion cooks a fragrance oil as it disperses it, which alters the balance of top, heart and base notes over time. The scent you smell an hour in is not the one that was composed. Cold-air diffusion instead atomises the fragrance oil mechanically, without heat, preserving the composition exactly as designed from the first minute to the last.

That precision matters most in spaces where the fragrance is part of the brand experience (a hotel lobby, a showroom, a spa) where a distorted scent is worse than no scent at all.

Range of professional cold-air diffusion units in multiple finishes

Scaling from one room to a whole building

For a single room (a hotel suite, a fitting room, an individual office) a compact reed or room diffuser in the 200–5000 ml range is enough. For anything larger (a lobby, a showroom floor, a gym) we recommend a professional diffusion unit, either standalone or integrated directly into your building’s ventilation system (HVAC), so the fragrance is distributed evenly across the entire space instead of pooling near a single point.

Every installation is sized to the room: airflow, ceiling height and footfall all factor into which unit and which intensity setting we recommend.

Frequently asked questions

What is cold-air diffusion?

Cold-air diffusion atomises fragrance oil mechanically, without heat, so the composition's balance of top, heart and base notes stays true to how it was designed, unlike heat-based diffusers which can alter the scent over time.

Can a diffuser be integrated into building ventilation?

Yes. Our professional systems can be installed standalone or integrated directly into HVAC, which distributes fragrance evenly across large spaces like lobbies, showrooms and gyms.

How do I know what size diffuser I need?

It depends on room size, airflow and footfall. As a guide, a 200ml compact diffuser suits roughly 8-10 sqm, while anything over 50 sqm typically calls for a professional cold-air system.
